Armenia’s two airports saw a significant increase in passenger numbers in July 2019 against the same month of 2018. Yerevan Zvartnots International Airport and Shirak Airport in the second largest city of Gyumri handled 371,883 passengers last month, up by 16.7% from July 2018, Armenia International Airports told Panorama.am.
In July this year, Zvartnots Airport reported a 18.7% growth in passenger traffic. The airport served 356,934 passengers against 300,674 of the past July.
Shirak Airport welcomed 14,949 passengers last month, down by 16.5% from July 2018 when passenger traffic comprised 17,898 people.
Since the beginning of the year passenger flow at the two airports of Armenia has reached 1,692,494 people, marking a 11% growth from the same period last year.
Meanwhile, in January-July 2019 the total number of takeoffs and landings in both airports also recorded a rise of 7.7% compared to the numbers of 2018.
