The Masters’ Clock installed in Yerevan as part of the Master of Armenia contest

June 21, 2022, Yerevan A symbolic Masters’ Clock has been installed today in the Diana Abgar Park (intersection of the Saryan Street and Mashtots Avenue) as part of the Master of Armenia contest.

The dial of the wooden two-meter high clock bears images symbolizing the 12 fields of the competition, including professional tools and devices used by craftsmen (winemaker, carpet weaver, sewer, jeweler, welder, cook, furniture maker, shoemaker, baker, auto mechanic, musical instrument maker, as well as bricklayer).

The clock, which has “Masters’ time” tagline, will remain in place for about 2 months and will serve as a medium to share information about the details of the contest with the public.

The purpose of this art object is to show the craftship in the light of centuries-old traditions and irrevocable cognition, for these crafts have persevered through centuries maintaining their role in social life.

The opening ceremony was attended by organizers of the contest, invited guests, as well as residents of Yerevan.

To remind, the deadline for submitting applications is June 30. Masters from Armenia and Artsakh (aged 23 or above), who work in the named 12 fields, are welcome to apply through the website https://www.varpetarmenia.am/, or by calling +374 77 733 551.

Upon reviewing the applications, the professional Selection Committee will select the two best candidates for each direction, who will move to the next stage of the contest. The second stage will be held as a TV show on Armenia TV channel, where 12 of the 24 participants will be named winners, one per each field.

The winners of the contest will be awarded with the Master of Armenia Prize, will get monetary reward (in 3 million AMD), and will be offered support by the partners of the competition.

The contest is initiated by social entrepreneur Ruben Vardanyan and the "TО LIVE" Foundation. The organizer of the contest is the Tourism and Urbanism Charitable Foundation. The partner of the contest is Armenia TV Company.

The purpose of the contest is the preservation and the popularization of crafts as a vocation, restoration of the public revere and esteem towards working people.
