At a cabinet meeting on Thursday, Nikol Pashinyan stressed the need to step up Covid-19 vaccinations in Armenia to avoid possible resurgence of daily cases.
"It is already the third meeting that we are not wearing face masks due to the improving Covid situation in Armenia,” he said.
He stated that three weeks ago a downward trend in new infections was observed. However, Pashinyan said if the vaccination process is not properly organized, the face mask mandate may be reimposed in the country at some point.
“If, God forbid, the situation worsens, we will resort to stricter measures. Therefore, I call for a proper continuation of the vaccination process, the current rates are not satisfactory,” he said.
