Security measures will be tightened in capital Stepanakert of the Artsakh Republic during the 7th Pan-Armenian Summer Games. The country’s national security service said in a statement increased number of security officers will be deployed from August 6 to 9 throughout the capital taking into the expected influx of large number of athletes and tourists.
“The measure is intended to ensure the security and proper organization of the upcoming event of the Pan-Armenian significance,” the security agency said in a statement.
It also informed about the launch of 24-hour hotline available at 047-94-41-26 to operate within the security service from August 2 to 10, urging citizens to call the hotline about all suspicious activity in the mentioned period.
To note, The 7th Pan-Armenian games will take place from August 6 to 17 with representatives from over 35 cities to compete in 17 sport competitions. This year, the opening ceremony of the Games will take place in Artsakh capital Stepanakert. The guests will arrive in the Republic of Artsakh on August 5 and the opening ceremony will be held on August 6. The second stage of games will kick off in Yerevan on August 8 and the closing ceremony of the 7the Pan-Armenian games will be held on August 17.
