International flights will not resume until October 1 in Georgia

18 August 2020, 14:42 - NovostiNK
Regular international flights will not resume in Georgia until October 1, announces the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency, however Paris, Riga and Munich will be exceptions, Agenda.ge reported.

As the situation in the aviation sector is difficult to predict due to the Covid-19 pandemic at the global level, decisions on border and passenger restrictions are periodically changed. We urge citizens and passengers again to refrain from purchasing tickets for uncertified destinations and flights", says the agency.

Georgian Economy Minister Natia Turnava said that restoring more international flights after the first arrivals since the lockdown earlier this month will depend on the situation concerning the pandemic in Georgia.

It is noted that Georgia has opened its borders for travellers from Germany, France, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia unconditionally. All five countries have also opened borders for Georgia.
